Community Club Resumes After Vacation at Opera House
After a month off the Community Club meets next Monday evening January 30 at the opera house with E. W. Pond Buttz and Fred Frey as serving committee. New club song books are ready and the gathering will feature club songs as part of a push by the United States Chamber of Commerce and related organizations to revive local prosperity and public confidence.

Pay Tel Rentals With Corn Exchange Scheme
The Pike County Telephone Co. has taken 45 000 bushels of corn in two years for telephone rentals at prices 50 percent above the elevator value. Corn is delivered to an elevator for a credit slip to subscribers, then traded by the company. Directors meet to decide whether to hold or dispose of the corn, currently about 35 000 bushels.

Burton Home Bureau Meets At Mrs. Sims Home
The Burton Home Bureau gathered January 19 at Mrs. Earl Sims residence. The program opened with songs led by recreation chairman Mildred Doole. Mrs. Geo Doole and Mrs. Lytle gave a lesson on pictures as part of the Home Furnishings project, covering framing hanging artists and painting contexts. Social time included songs and guessing contests. W A Taylor church reports from Denver Fowler Coatsburg Columbus and Liberty. In 1932 Columbus 388 percent youth attendance voting a misprint. Coatsburg 88 percent. Liberty 48 percent. Denver 45 percent. Fowler 68 percent. Average youth share 44 percent across five congregations with an average of 77 attendees per service.

Ernest Fellmer Schafer Rites Held at Pleasant View Church
Ernest Fellmer Schafer known as Ernest Fellmer son of John and Augusta Schafer was born near Lorraine on September 27 1890 and died January 21 1933 at 8 30 am aged 42 years 3 months 24 days. He lived with his Fellmer grandparents and was cared for by relatives in his final years. Survived by mother Mrs Augusta Werner and half brother Louis Werner of near Liberty funeral services were held Monday at Pleasant View church with Rev I W Bingaman of Quincy officiating.
