The statute, effective January 1, was challenged by three trucking companies claiming they would lose $250,000 in contracts if enforced.

St Louis Producers Report Net Earnings Above Forty Thousand
Net earnings of over 41 700 for 1932 were announced at the St Louis Producers annual meeting held January 12 at the National Stock Yards. A $41 786.00 net savings and a continued $9 100 000 plus in livestock sales were reported despite lower income from reduced selling charges. President J R Fulkerson of Jerseyville Illinois announced a customary refund to be paid again this year. About 200 stockmen from Missouri and Illinois attended.
