C of C Names L V Conrath New Secretary
The Lexington Chamber of Commerce elected L. V. Conrath of St. Louis as its secretary at Thursday’s board meeting. Conrath, born and educated in St. Louis, has worked as Assistant Traffic Manager for Ely and Walker Dry Goods Co. and served with the U S Grain Corporation during the war. He will report in about two weeks.

New York Store Opens After Sale of Lexington Stock
L Weinstein sold his stock to Abe Qolevitch of Vincennes Ind and possession was given at once. Weinstein succeeded M Ladeson in January 1914 and built a large patronage. The new proprietor has years of merchandising experience and will continue existing lines with added dry goods. The store will be known as the New York Store. Weinstein will leave Lexington and sell his residence property at a bargain if taken promptly.

Country Chamber Attends Shull Farm for Meeting

Charged With Violating Prohibition Act Case in Kansas City
Tesjes Stewart and Crappy Dan Williams, both described as colored, were taken to Kansas City on Wednesday by a Federal Prohibition Enforcement Officer. Stewart faces charges of transporting beer and Williams for bootlegging elderberry wine. A state warrant also lists Stewart for driving an automobile while intoxicated.
