Death of Killiam P. Long in Lexington
Killiam P. Long, a respected Lexington citizen, died Tuesday at 7:30 am at his Twenty-sixth Street home after a three week illness. Born March 26, 1861 in Lexington, he lived in Lafayette County most of his life except eight years in Colorado. Survived by wife Katherine Mott and ten children in Kansas City and Texas, four brothers, one sister, and a large extended family. Funeral held Thursday at 9 am from the Catholic church.

Rev Henry D Kennedy Dies At Age 83 In Florida
Former Lexington resident Rev Henry D Kennedy died in Tarpon Springs Florida on Monday September 20 at age 83 He served as a Presbyterian minister for over fifty years retiring to Lexington to live with his sister Mrs M E Nickell until her death He later moved to Florida to live with his son Newton Kennedy The body will be brought to Lexington for burial.

The Athletics suffered a 1 to 0 defeat at Higginsville in the Inter County League season finale. Run Clark pitched a one hit game but Dean allowed four. Lecure Lineback and Holleran on defense impressed. The loss came in the seventh inning when runners were left on base. The teams schedule a rematch in Lexington next Sunday.

Extension Work Starts with Fifty Teachers Enrolled
Last Friday evening began extension courses at Lexington Higginsville and Odessa under Dr C A Phillips dean of Central Missouri Teachers College Warrensburg. Fifty teachers enrolled across three towns with five hours college credit for two courses. fees are fifteen dollars for both or ten for one. Phillips will make eleven more trips two weeks apart with next visits set for October 1 2 and 2 1. Enrollment closes after his third visit with at least seventy five teachers expected among the three classes.

Robber Takes $245 From John Shiras in Garage Heist
Tuesday at 1 am John Shiras was held up in a Highland avenue garage by two men who ordered him to throw up his hands and robbed him of $245 before escaping. No suspects named and no injuries reported. Local police were notified and investigations began.
