Wentworth defeated Kemper 70 to 0 in a hard fought game where Wentworth led 4 to 0 at halftime. Captain Moore sparked the offense, while Kemper’s defense stiffened after intermission but failed to sustain scoring. The Wentworth band and parade shows added spirit as players and fans reflected on the decisive outcome.
Fd Hulver and Miss Alice Belle Cooke were married at the bride’s parents’ home three miles south of Lexington at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon Rev Petty officiating. The bride is daughter of Mr Cooke and is extremely popular among her acquaintances. The groom is a prosperous energetic young farmer and a prominent local figure. They left for Kansas City after the ceremony and will keep house on his farm five miles south of town.
