Prisoners Escape From County Jail On Sunday
Sunday afternoon about 3 oclock two prisoners left the county jail preferring the bracing air outside. Charles Murphy charged with carrying concealed weapons and David Altice charged with horse stealing were the escapees. They left no forwarding address and did not take jail property. Deputy Forsha was away on official business in Odessa. Carlos Murphy, previously jailed, surrendered Monday after going to the Wellington elevator and asking that the sheriff be notified. Altice, still at large, reportedly fled Saturday night. Red Cross field workers arrive in Lexington to begin county work with Miss Moss Nevada Miss Sparks Mrs Phelps Mrs Pilcher and Miss Swingle.
