First Monthly Luncheon for Lexington Chamber Members
Members of the Chamber of Commerce in Lexington enjoyed a noonday luncheon at Hinesley’s with about fifty five attendees including local ladies and county visitors. The event approved continuing monthly luncheons on the third Tuesday between Hinesley’s and the Victory, featured brief talks on smallpox in Kansas City and Red Cross duties, and included a short address by Dr. R E Dickinson of Colorado Springs with singing led by W J Gresham.

D S Phelps, an elder Dover citizen, died Tuesday at 4 20 pm from old age and illnesses. He was 79, born and raised in the county, survived by his widow and seven children: Chas Phelps Dover George Kansas City Mrs Tom Hackley Odessa Mrs Robi Darnell Corder Mrs Anna Shoemaker Dover Mrs R L Holman Lexington and Mrs McCormick Kansas City. The funeral was held Thursday at Dover.

Fire crews respond to blaze atop Kennedy residence

High Schools Enter Contest at University Exhibition
Nine vocational home economics high schools from across the state competed in a university sponsored contest. Teams from Vandalia Chillicothe Boonville St Charles Martinsville Lexington Mexico and Unionville presented food and clothing entries. First prize went to Fay Fuqua and Mary Francis Kline of Vandalia. second to Beatrice Leeper and Hazel Popham of Chillicothe.
