Mayor Duensing welcomed pioneers as Henry Winkler led proceedings with renewed officers including Winkler president and Henry Smauer secretary. New members joined from Concordia and Wellington. The afternoon program featured Concordia Band performances, a German songs Medley, and a rhyme greeting by N Haerle. Adjournment set for Lexington May 16 1904. City council approves office of city clerk and paving petition
At a Monday night meeting the council created the city clerk office to align with third class city statutes and elected Jacob Fegert to fill it while retaining duties and salary. E J McGrew presented a petition to pave South street from 13th to 24th, seeking uniform width and extra parked space between 19th and 23rd. Total frontage 8603 feet, 537 owned by non residents, 1409 held by signers who refused but would not remonstrate. over half favored the improvement.

The Lexington public schools present an evening at the opera house on Monday night, May 250. Part I features an operetta The Fairies of the Seasons by fifty selected younger pupils, with music, movement, and effects. He was a Lafayette county native, a respected farmer and Christian gentleman. He married twice, leaving a large family including John, Robert, Martha K, Clyde H, Mary, Edward, Jack and George. Funeral services were held Monday at Mt Hebron church, conducted by Rev Walkup.

Louis Bauerle aged 73 died Monday at his home in College Addition Lexington Missouri after stomach cancer. Born in Baden Baden Germany in 1830 he came to St Louis in 1840 and married Miles Sophia Wish in 1852. He was a builder who helped construct a mill hemp factory and rope walk in Lexington and later ventured other businesses. Survived by wife and children Lena Moore Lee Otto Joe C and Mrs A K Sandifer.
