Milton Drummond Dies in Odessa After Long Life of Service
Milton Drummond Jr. died Saturday afternoon at 4 15 at his Odessa home from tuberculosis. Born in Dover in 1834, he lived in Lafayette County most of his life, served in the Confederate Army, edited the Democrat, and twice served as county assessor. Survived by wife Millie and children James Lexington W F B G Kellie Odessa Dr BR L Waverly and W W Marshall. funeral Monday at 11 from the Christian church with Rev. Lyon presiding.

Memorial Day observance planned by local lodges May 22
At a May 22 meeting representatives from Orion Lodge 46 I O O F Gutten burg Lodge 25 and others formed a committee with P. RB. Smith as chair and Thos Wedge as secretary to observe the second Sunday in June 1903 as a memorial day. The program calls for 1:30 p m assembly and a 2 o’clock procession to the cemetery with sala maven, a decorat ion, and a return march. All fraternal orders and visiting brothers are invited.
