The Dancing Specialties of Miss Wingfield and the senior class of W. M. A. presented Broadway Jones at the Grand Lexington Tuesday night. The two act musical comedy drew full seating capacity and praise as the best of its kind. Warren Vivion directed with coaching from a St. Joseph director. Miss Kitty Sue Penick starred and Miss Peggie Wingfield dazzled as a young dancer from Kansas City.

Miss Herd known for her pleasing personality and popularity among friends. Shriver from Rochester Ind has lived in Lexington three years and works with Missouri Gas and Electric Service Co. Probate Laws Simplified Expects Governor Signature
Judge S N Wilson drew a bill for probate court procedure reform introduced in the senate by Senator J J Duncan and in the house by J D Robinson. The bill will become law with the governor's signature. Amendments were offered in the house but defeated. the measure passed as originally presented and amends 52 sections to expedite probate procedures.

Swedish immigrant Gus Holmgren dies after short illness
Gus Holmgren, born March 26, 1866 in Sweden, died Sunday morning at his sister Mrs. Knute Burglund’s home near the Valley mines after a two day illness from pneumonia. He was 51. Survived by three sisters and one brother, with services held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mrs. Burglund’s home conducted by Fy4 Bierbaum.

Mrs Lowe discusses Irish drama in Lexington lecture
Mrs Myrtle Osborne Lowe of Kansas City spoke on Irish drama to a large Lexington audience on Saturday afternoon March 17 with Irish musical numbers and readings. The program included songs by Mrs J G Crenshaw and Miss Gertrude Kearn of Central College. Mayor Louis Minor Jr. announced April 1 that Lexington would operate on a cash basis, paying current bills from that year’s revenue and applying any surplus to about $30,000 in old debt.

Council Meeting Adourned In Mayor Chair Elects Fire Suits

Death of Louis Heimer Near Lexington Follows Weekend Absence
Louis Heimer of a farm eight miles south of Lexington was found dead Monday afternoon about 2 after a weekend disappearance. He left Sunday evening to visit a neighbor and was last seen about 8. Heimer, born April 19, 1858 in St. Charles Missouri, is survived by his wife and eight children. Funeral was held Wednesday at 10 at the Catholic church.

Death of Mrs Walter Strutman in Kansas City
Mrs Walter Strutman died Saturday afternoon at 4 o clock at her home in Kansas City after a protracted illness. She was born August 2, 1890 in this city, daughter of Matthew Spruce, and married to Mr Strutman May 1, 1910. Survived by husband, father, two grandmothers, one sister Mrs Roy Meyer.
