Dr Jacob J Fulkerson a renowned Missouri physician died at 2 50 AM at his Washington street home after weeks of paralysis He was born October 3 1849 in Lee County Virginia served in the Confederate army studied at St Louis Medical College and practiced in Oak Grove Higginsville Lexington He held county collector posts and commanded Company K Fifth Missouri Volunteers in the Spanish American War He was a Democrat leader and a Mason Elks and Woodmen member He treated rich and poor alike and his death leaves a large family and many mourners in Lexington and Higginsville.

Thursday evening Robring Gee of Higginaville aged 10 and another son aged 12 were drowned in a yard pond. Neither could swim. A small boy witnessed the accident, which occurred in Higginaville where the Gee family resides.
