Death of Frederick Robb Neet Ends Long Local Life
Frederick Robb Neet died Wednesday at his North Seventeenth Street home after a long illness and a recent fall. Born August 18 1838 in Jessamine County Kentucky he moved to Missouri in 1850 and lived in Lafayette County. A carpenter before the Civil War he later ran a natural and artificial jewelry business and married Ella Bethel in 1868. He served in Union forces including the 14th Missouri Volunteers and the 8th Kansas Infantry, and was honorably discharged in 1865. He is survived by his wife daughter Alya two grandchildren a brother and a sister. Funeral Friday at 2:30 from his home with Rev. Cobb and Rev. Clark officiating. burial at Machpelah Cemetery.

The Lexington Merchants traveled to Wellington Friday and defeated the Wellington team of the Inter-County league in thirteen innings. The Merchan ts tied the score in the ninth and finally won in the tenth hour when they scored a run, with batteries Bartlett Mann Kock and Bartlett Slusher Shusher contributing to the effort.
