Death of Lewis Neale A longtime county resident dies
Lewis Neale died Friday morning after a ten day illness at the Commercial Hotel aged 72. Born near Parkersburg West Virginia February 6 1831 he lived in the county 47 years. Survived by sisters Mary Neale Joseph Neale and Mrs J G Shackleford of Sweet Springs one brother William Neale and wife Jennie McCausland with three children Julia Parker Minnie and Florence. Funeral at Methodist church conducted by Rev J C Given and Dr B C Gordon with interment Machpelah cemetery. He was respected as a caring neighbor and public figure.
