Elks Host Warm Reception At New Home
Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks members entertained friends Thursday night at the new lodge home in a reception. Lexington orchestra and guests from Concordia provided music for dancing. Guests enjoyed pool and billiards, card games, and a supper. The Virginia reel led by Capt Tudhunter and Col Huston drew crowds. About three hundred people attended from the surrounding area.

Death of Mrs Dockery at Missouri Governor’s Wife
Mrs Mary Elizabeth Dockery wife of Governor Dockery died after a long illness from heart disease at the Jefferson City mansion. Attending at the bedside were the governor and her sisters Mrs Margaret B Lincoln and Mrs Carrie B Orr and Dr Thorpe. Born March 15 1849 at Liberty Missouri she married in Chillicothe and lived in Gallatin where her husband practiced medicine before his election to Congress. She aided her husband in politics and correspondence and managed domestic affairs with cheer. Burial was in Chillicothe Missouri beside her children.
