Christmas day in Lexington was largely cheerful despite a slow start. Townspeople shopped late, merchants sold nearly all special goods, and mild sunny weather with light snow encouraged a festive mood. The Bredden Paige Stock Company drew good crowds, and the day ended with plentiful food and gifts.
The Lexington chapter of Sigma Psi Sorority held a evening party at Mrs Nannie G Steele home. Members dressed as children and created playful mischief around a Christmas tree with gifts for both young ladies and men. Toys, candy and refreshments were shared as the group enjoyed the festive atmosphere and social chatter.
Mayview notes list residents and visitors during holidays. Paul Robinson, Sidney Wishback, Mrs Joe Simpson, A Caffee, Mr Brown, Fred McAllister, Geo Humphreys, Miss Sue Worldridge, Kay Waddell, Wr. P F Keith, Ella Siler, Minnie Moore, Rev Chas Powell, James Powell, Janie Sherwood, Miss Ray, Robi Smart, Mrs George Foulds, Mrs Jim Smith, Rev N H McCain, Frank Arthur, Will Jennings and families are mentioned with travel, visits, and gatherings across Odessa Higginsville Breckenridge and Grand Pass. Weather is noted as non-influential to plans. The pool tables were sold to move to Norborne.
Benjamin Windsor night watchman at Fowler Dry Goods Co. 2627 Main St. fell from the second floor into a shaft about 35 feet to the basement during rounds at 10 PM Tuesday, dying from a broken neck. He lived at 1237 Penn St. with a daughter Dessie and a son in Kansas City. Witnesses described the lift as you pulled the box and Windsor exited the car before it returned. The accident halted operations as investigators and store staff reacted. An obituary note mentions Windsor’s widow status and Mayview ties.
The annual meeting of the stockholders of Lexington Savings Bank in Lexington Missouri will be held on Wednesday January 8 1908 from ten oclock in the forenoon to two oclock in the afternoon in the banking rooms for the election of directors and other business. Warren B Wardell president F Litt Wallace secretary.

Nicola Margaret Wallace traveled to Kansas City for a few days. OC Barnard returned from a brief trip to Walker at Aiggine Zine.
David Russell announces the death of W R Russell in Kansas City. A Lexington pioneer, he arrived in 180 and helped found Ruchel Brothers, a vehicle business on Franklin Avenue. He moved to Kansas City about 15 years prior and was respected as a generous businessman and community figure. He was brother to David Russell of Lexington and had many relatives in the area.
Miss Hartwig topped a three day sales drive at Palace Mercantile Co with about 25 in value and a 105 margin at close. Mollie Gheatham and Sophie Bour earned second and third prizes with combs. Several locals, including Frances Bown and Horace Ardinger, were noted in travel and visits around Higginsville, Kansas City, Wellington, and Columbia.
Students returned to classrooms after holidays as sickness disrupted attendance. Supt Patterson noted lower grades faced serious illness and irregular attendance, while high and grammar schools suffered little. He expected improved conditions after the break and emphasized strong teachers and higher enrollment this year.
Notices show holders of the Morrison-Wentworth Bank to meet in Lexington in the directors room on a Wednesday in January 1003 for director elections and other business.
