Buber departed Thursday for an extended Colorado trip while KE M Taubman traveled to Kansas City on business. Pauline Bellors returned Tuesday from a brief visit to Kansas City.

Stage Party at Rankins Entertains Friends
A stag party at Mr and Mrs Rankin home entertained about thirty guests Thursday evening. High five honored the evening with Dr Claude Johnson and John Taubman tying for first. Dr Johnson won a box of cigars. Elegant refreshments were served by Mrs Rankin and helpers. The Rankins are well known entertainers.

Celebrated 77th Birthday of William T Bell
William T Bell celebrated his 77th birthday at his home on Thirteenth and Franklin Avenue. He was born in Simpson County Kentucky in 4431 and emigrated to Blue Township Jackson County Missouri the same year. Bell has been a longtime columnist for the Intelligencer and is held in high regard.

Wentworth Acquires More Property South of Town
Wentworth Military academy closed a deal to purchase 44 acres south of town by the depot. The land, formerly bought by a December syndicate for townsite expansion, will become an athletic field and drill grounds with a greatly enlarged lake. Plans include a half mile regulation track and an enclosed athletic field for cavalry and artillery drills. The academy will build stables and dairy facilities, expanding grounds and equipment to rank near the leading school in the region. Local reports note visits and travel by several residents on Wednesday and Thursday between Waverly, Kansas City, and nearby towns.
