Ed Patterson, popular Lexington youth, dies at home
Ed Patterson aged 23 died Sunday evening at 1507 Franklin Avenue after typhoid fever and a recent operation. He was the son of Mrs. Maria Patterson, educated in Lexington public schools, and long employed by Gratz Brothers. His death drew wide community mourning and funeral services were held Tuesday at the Christian church. In a separate note, a lavish wedding in the Christian church featured James Robert Sydnor and Miss Mayme Warren Johnson with extensive ceremony details and a large reception at 1603 South Street.

Mrs. Nathan Corder mother of Mrs. Nannie Steele of this city died suddenly at Mrs. Steele’s Main Street home between 8 and 9 PM of heart trouble. Born Octavia Hill in Liberty Missouri December 20, 1828, she was the daughter of Rev. Henry Hill. She married Nathan Corder of Liberty December 14, 1857. three children survive Rena Chappell of Marshall Lula Wilson of Amarillo and Nannie Steele of this city. Funeral held yesterday at 2 PM from Mrs. Steele’s residence. Burial Machpelah beside her husband who died five years ago.

In Lexington on a Saturday evening at 7 o clock, Miss Marcia Sellers wed Tilton Davis Jr at the Sellers home. The ceremony by Dr. E C Gordon followed a fond family gathering with songs and an improvised altar. The couple planned a fall wedding but an extended business trip altered plans. They will reside briefly in Aberdeen SD before Davis seeks land in May.
