Eastern capitalists secure option on tracts in Clearwater valley near Lewiston to create log storage reservoirs for a new large mill and irrigation lots. The Lewiston Land and Development Company plans a 800‑worker mill, free boomage, and orchard-home plots while expanding pine timber markets across Idaho. Lewiston Normal Commencement Week Closes In High Style

Dr Lambert opened Baccalaureate week at Lewiston Normal with a Sunday service. Jas E Babb will deliver the class oration as diplomas are awarded by Jno Vollmer. Last night featured alumni events highlighted by Dr C Ross Baker of Boise as orator at the opera house. Baker spoke on The Lions in the Way, praising bold progress and courage. An alumni banquet followed with toasts by Craig, Pierce, Ward, Peterson, Doyle, Knepper, Cox, Vollmer, Needham, Knepper, Foresman, Dr Noblett, Rev Smith, Prof Talkington, and Baker. The event inaugurates a new alumni banquet tradition. Mrs Osmers is credited for organizing success. The Lewiston Normal sees rapid growth with 95 graduates this year. The Idaho Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias gathered in Grangeville and adjourned today.

Grand Lodge Session Held in Lewiston with Officer Elections

The Lewiston Grand Lodge session concluded with officer elections led by CC K Hedum and a grand ball to close. It recorded eight members and visiting Knights from Pythian orders, with Mrs. E P Dorris named grand senior and Mrs. Viola McConville as supreme representative in a Rathbone Sisters temple formation.

Will Build At Once Bridge Project Planned At Lewiston

The Lewiston Riparia line will be built at once with June 15 start the bridge at Clearwater Lewiston. O R N president Mohler says New York ordered immediate construction with no delay in contracts. Chief Engineer Kennedy’s office will handle bids via Jones. contract ender spy remains unclear. The bridge site on the Clearwater at Lewiston is fixed and project cost is about $2 000 000. Preliminary work is led by the O R N Ge but Lewiston Riparia line will be run by a separate company.

Scottish Rite Masons convocation in Lewiston this week

The Scottish Rite Masons hold a convocation in Lewiston starting Wednesday at 6 pm and ending Saturday night with a banquet. Members confer degrees from the fourth to the fourteenth, with the Kadoah degree to be given tonight. Dill has sued Lewiston to settle title to a Swanson Street strip the city claims as an alley and which Dill says was part of a prior purchase from G Larsen.
