DeWitt Home Burned In Sudden Township Blaze
Tuesday morning at about seven o clock the Clinton DeWitt home burned rapidly with the contents lost. Captain DeWitt had just left to attend a township supervisors meeting in Lemmon when a neighbor reported the fire. Mrs Maud Bergerer and the Captain s grandchilds were able to escape the flames but valuables including clothing and a piano were lost, with no insurance on the property.

Stabbed man dies after Strool confrontation over a woman
Last week Tuesday a stabbing affray in Strool left John Stefns dead. Halmar Jorgenson drove the knife into Stefns after an argument when Stefns confronted him and Mrs Stefns near Strool. Jorgenson and the woman were arrested. Stefns died Friday after hospital treatment in Aberdeen.

Demorest Medal Contest At Lemmon High School
A well attended elocution contest in the Lemmon high school assembly room awarded the Demorest silver medal to Miss Georgie Wilson. Participants included teachers Estella Greason Geo Richardson M Calnan Mrs Saxauer Miss George Wilson and judges were Mesdames Tillotson Drew-Wilson and McNamara. Music provided by local teachers and a chorus.
