Reverend Allen’s Vesting Sparks Mixed Reception

Sunday afternoon Rev. Bea min Franklin Allen, former pastor of the local Baptist church, addressed a large audience as he relinquished the title of Rev. and adopted plain Mr. The gathering was well filled and listened with interest to his peroration, though many did not endorse his views. Black's visit and Allen’s departure are noted alongside farming notes from Selfridge and surrounding belts.

All Aboard for Selfridge Lot Sale Excursion

Lemmon residents plan a Selfridge day trip Saturday for the lot sale. The Olympian train leaves Lemmon at 6:34 am and returns after midnight, with connections at McLaughlin. Selfridge offers amusements including horse races small sports a baseball game and other diversions for a good time regardless of purchasing a lot.

Yankee Robinson Circus Delights Small Lemmon Crowd

Yankee Robinson's Circus drew a good crowd in Lemmon on Saturday. The show delivered clean entertainment with parade and music while some mishaps occurred, including Tom-Tom being drowned and the flying machine breaking.

Runaway Buggy Crash Injures McMackins Near Bryant Place

Last Tuesday near the Bryant place north of town Mr and Mrs McMackin were thrown from a buggy when the neck yoke broke. The horses became unmanageable and the rig overturned after a man rushed up to hold them. Mrs McMackin sustained fractured ribs and other injuries while Mr McMackin had a severe hand laceration and was reported in great danger from gangrene.

Jorgenson Bound Over for Murder in Hilmar Case

Jorgenson was bound over to district court without bail on a murder charge after a preliminary trial in Bison defense argued self defense claiming Stefas attacked him. Sheriff Anderson moved the prisoner to Aberdeen for detention in Brown County Jail until trial. Legal notices indicate a Willimie sale at the Stutane Herald wallipe.

Farmers Organize Equity Union at Lemmon Among Local Farmers

Friday afternoon last week nearly a hundred farmers gathered at Lemmon to form a Farmers Equity Union with over forty joining. Officers chosen were I. M. Neff president W Butte vice president Martin Hersrud treasurer. The group aims at education mutual protection and better relations while pursuing price control via regional warehouses and elevators. A second Lemmon meeting is set for Saturday July seventh with weekly gatherings planned to benefit local farmers.

Jealous wife maims Mobridge fireman in brutal assault

Mrs John Careel attacked and maimed her husband John Carroll of Mobridge. The injured fireman was taken to Aberdeen on July 4 with life in danger after a razor wound. Authorities arrested the woman as Mobridge unrest grows amid alleged jealous frenzy.

Land Office Saturday Hours Adjusted For Summer
