Council Rejects Icicle Road Bids Moves to Percentage Basis
Monday night the council rejected all bids for the Icicle road and may let the project on a percentage basis. An engineer’s survey estimated completion to the dam at about 3300 dollars. A concrete sidewalk around Block 9 was approved. A sidewalk on Commercial street from 8th to 13th streets was unanimously approved. A north side sidewalk on Sherbourne Street from Block 21 to Summit Avenue, then to Evans Street, was also approved unanimously. Estimated cost 1.50 dollars per front foot.

A fourteen year old boy from Kansas City named Philip Testa ran away to Los Angeles to meet Ruth Roland star of The Tigers Trail. He found work at a Glendale studio restaurant after Roland aided him. His mother’s letter says he plans to travel to California to see her, then return home.

Arbitration Board Reviews Claims At Great Northern Mill
A Labor Commissioner and union leaders supervised an arbitration after a strike at the Great Northern Lumber Co in Leavenworth Washington. The board ordered reinstatement for several workers, retained one discharged lawyer, and urged creation of a Grievance Committee to prevent future trouble.
