Strike on at Great Northern Lumber Mill
Fifty or sixty men and a few women employed at the Great Northern saw mill went on strike Monday morning in sympathy with three men discharged Saturday. Disagreement over cause of the dismissals and alleged damage to lumber sparked the dispute, with work continuing in parts of the mill. Leavenworth travelled to Waterville Sunday and lost 5 to 4 after a 12 inning duel. A post seventh inning brawl led to a slugging incident between a Leavenworth player and a Waterville man, but Leavenworth finished strong before the decisive run by Waterville in the 12th. The lineup featured Wonder, Smith, Daly, Brown, Miller, Foster, Mahoney and J Smith with Nelson replacing Daly at second late. The team vows to prevent future incidents and looks forward to upcoming home games.

Royal Development Company Begins Seasonal Mining Work
Jas Naughton of the Royal Development Co arrived last week and sent a crew of nine men to on site in the Red Mountain district to start operations for the season. Naughton went out himself early this week and the company will continue development work for now. Mining or shipment plans for this season were not stated.

Catcher Holcomb Breaks Shoulder Blade In Collision
In a game at Peshas tin last Sunday catcher Holcomb fractured his shoulder blade while colliding with third baseman Lake who suffered a cheekbone injury. A popup collision led to the accident and both players were taken to Leavenworth hospital for treatment.

Service Club Discusses Traffic, Recreation Park Fund Drive
