Daffron Found Guilty by Superior Court
William H. Daffron a Great Northern brakeman formerly on the Mansfield line was found guilty by a jury in the superior court of attempted assault. Two sizable forest fires Tuesday drew community attention. Icicle Ridge blaze started by a rubbish burn near Cascade Orchards then spread toward the snow line, threatening a barn. Camp 18 fire, from logging cleanup, burned to logs and flatcars but was brought under control with crews on scene.
