In Montesano on April 6 the seven men convicted March 13 of second degree murder for the slaying of Warren O Grimm Centralia Armistice Day victim were sentenced to 25 to 40 years each. Judge John M Wilson denied a new trial and defense attorney Vanderveer announced an appeal. Loren Roberts was committed to the Walla Walla penitentiary for the criminal insane ward. French Troops Take Mayence and Frankfort in Rhine Occupation
French tanks entered Frankfort at 5 20 this morning with engineers and sharp shooters occupying key points including the railroad station and post office. The occupation was a military march without fighting as Darmstadt followed soon after and General DeGoutte proclaimed French forces crossed the Rhine to press the Berlin government to honor allied agreements.
