Obituary: Mary Herzberg of Johnson Township Dies
Mary Christine Herzberg of rural Le Mars died September 29 after a seven week illness following a broken hip. She was born April 9, 1885 in Germany and came to the United States as a baby, living in Plymouth County. She married John Herzberg in 1903. he died in 1954. Funeral Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Survivors include son Chris. daughter Martha Eberhard. 40 grandchildren. three brothers, a sister, and other relatives. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Mrs. Mattie E. Fletcher Rites Held in LeMars
Mrs. Mattie E. Fletcher 82 died Monday in Sacred Heart hospital after three months illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at First Baptist Church LeMars with burial in LeMars city cemetery. Born September 13, 1872 in Morrison, Illinois she married Charles B. Fletcher July 4, 1891. They farmed Plymouth County area before moving to LeMars in 1918. Survived by two daughters Eva McPherson Oakland California and Fayuita Norton LeMars, along with 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fletcher was a practical nurse for many years.
