Westmar Joins Four-C Conference in Midwest

Westmar college joins the Central Church College Conference of the Midwest as a member of the Four-C group. The Concordia of Seward Nebraska Dana Blair Tarkio Missouri lineup expands with Westmar. Open home schedule features Concordia and Tarkio, most games at night with Tarkio Saturday afternoon. The move keeps Westmar in touch with Iowa Conference opponents and NCAC peers.

Plymouth County School Boards Form Local Group

Four Plymouth County town and city boards met at Le Mars High School to form a county organization and discuss proposed legislation for the Iowa General Assembly. Akron Merrill Kingaley and Le Mars were represented. Remsen did not attend. Approximately 180 board members secretaries and superintendents were present. The group named Dr L C OToole as chairman and Louise Dennler as secretary. They debated elections teacher certification state aid and district reorganization and plan another meeting October 18 to elect delegates for Des Moines November 6. The Iowa Association of School Boards provides information and promotes legislation for member districts with more than 600 local boards nationwide.

Aalfs Family Lawsuit Ends With No Damages Found

Iowa Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled there were no damages or special injury to Wilbert Aalfs of Sioux City from his father's lawsuit over control of the Aalfs Baker Manufacturing Co. The Woodbury County district court had previously rejected the son's claim for half a million dollars, and the high court affirmed.

Three year old Ruhland laid to rest after truck crash

Johnnie Ruhland aged three, son of Mr and Mrs Frandy Ruhland, was buried October 22 at St Josephs cemetery Lincoln township. Funeral arranged by Waltgen Lucht and Rev Father Hoffman led the TeDeum mass at 9 a m. He died from a country road truck accident south of Le Mars. Kamp buys Lynch estate building in Le Mars

Nick Kamp was high bidder for the Lynch estate business building at 22 Central Ave in Le Mars. The sale, in the courthouse, drew active bidding for two hours and netted 22 19. Kamp plans unclear. The flat is leased to George Foxen, with further second floor apartments and a full basement. Elmer Atwood and family will travel to Ames to resell tides at Iowa State College.

Vernon Robinson Requests Divorce

Vernon Robinson of Elk Point South Dakota filed for divorce from Eva Ann Robinson. He says he served in the United States Army from September 6 1952 to September 9 1954 and now resides in Elk Point. They married July 20 1952 at Westfield Iowa and lived together until September 9 1954. He alleges cruel and inhumane treatment endangering his health and asks for a decree of divorce and to be denied use of the defendant's married name.

Henry N Schnee of Alton Minnesota died at home on September 20 after a long illness at age 30 years 3 months 5 days. He married Rhene Bosses on November 25 1930. Matt Walker to Lose Eye After Hospital Burns

Matt Walker, burned by electric current while working on a boiler at Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars, was moved to St. Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City. He will lose his left eye after surgery and earlier hopes of saving it faded as he could only perceive light. Francis Nemmer, his employer, said he is progressing well in all other aspects.

Beverly Bainbridge was chosen as the winner of the RYP Talent Find, with Lorene placed second. both farm residents near Le Mars and Kingsley respectively. Fire Destroys Reisch House in Rock Rapids Area

Friends and relatives in Le Mars report a Sunday morning fire that leveled the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reisch a mile from Rock Rapids. The family was away, insulation saved the frame, and the interior and contents were destroyed. The Reischs, including Marlys, had moved from Le Mars about two years ago.

Ram Truck Offers High Quality Rams To Plymouth Farmers

Plymouth county farmers may select purebred rams this fall via a traveling ram truck containing Hampshire Shropshire Suffolk and Corriedale breeds. The effort, organized by county extension director Abhe M Pierson and sponsored by Iowa State Sheep Association and county wool growers, aims to improve lambs and wool without long searches.
