Plans laid for the 1956 57 adult farmer education program at Le Mars Public School. Advisory Council outlines a specialized farm management focused schedule with meetings beginning October 8 at 7 30 pm in the Vocational Building enrollment is $1.00.

Attend Meeting County Tuberculosis and Health Association attended one of the six Regional Meetings sponsored by the Iowa Tuberculosis and Health Association at Milford Iowa on Sept 18. The meeting was attended by 9 persons from 15 counties. Those present from Plymouth County were Mesdames Marion Chapman Elmer Hoffman Herman H Borchers Sadie Brunsketl Chester Phillips and Miss Josephine Arendt. The Dickinson County chapter acted as host county. Harold Harris editor of the Sutherland Courier spoke to the entire group on the importance of publicity on a four year around basis. Members of the staff of the state tuberculosis association Des Moines as well as Mrs Paul Somers ITHA field representative of Spencer fed the workshop sessions.

Mrs Ira Mentzer of Ponca Nebraska announces the coming marriage of her daughter Pie to Wayne Williams of Mardell Missouri. They will wed October 6 in Fi Ritchie Maryland where both are stationed. After the ceremony they will visit with family. Joan Peterson a Ponca High School graduate with Struble and Le Mars schooling attended. Open house planned October 4 from 1 to 3 at the Mentzer home to honor the newlyweds.
The State Banking Department on Monday granted authorization for Farmers State Bank at Merrill to open a bank office at Hinton. It will not be a branch of Farmers State Bank since branching is illegal in Iowa, according to President Gordon Mennen of Le Mars. No definite opening date has been set.
A Globe-Post legal notice reports Joe Fisch of Remsen has submitted an application to Le Mars city council for a funeral home at the St. Joseph's church street site. Fisch runs a successful Remsen funeral home and is linked to transferring local properties including the Martin Schafer house and the Wernli home at Foster Park.
Seventeen a film by young people and for young people will be shown at the Assembly of God church Le Mars located at 3rd Ave and Ply St NW on Saturday night September 22 at 8 00 p m The event promises entertainment for both young and old audiences with a community screening.
Rev. Alvern Kinrade, born in Maquoketa Iowa and educated in Delmar, Dubuque and Chicago, was ordained in 1954 and will begin as pastor of Le Mars First Baptist on October 1. He is single. The Women's Society of Christian Service of Methodist Churches hosts an all day event in the local Methodist Church on Tuesday September 25.
