Granville Man Dies in Two Car Crash Near Granville

Erwin Joseph Wortherms, 27, of Granville, died in a two car crash two miles south of Granville on Tuesday morning while returning home after taking his son to kindergarten. The other driver, Odelo Schlichte, was hospitalized with good condition reported. Wortherms, born April 29 193, married Arlene Heying in 1951, survived by wife and three children, and four sisters. Funeral set for September 6 at St. Joseph's Granville with burial in church cemetery.

Mrs M Harnack dies after long illness near Remsen

Mrs M Harnack of a farm near Remsen died at home on September 1 1957 after years of illness. Born Kathleen Minten on April 15 1926 in Alton she married Milo Harnack September 2 1946 and they lived near Remsen. Funeral at St Marys Remsen at 730 am Wednesday conducted by F P Schultes. Survivors include husband three children Roger Noreen Colleen at home, her parents three sisters James Christoffel Richard Schroeder Marilee Minten and two brothers Donald Myron. one daughter preceded her. She belonged to Catholic Daughter of America. Rosary said at Fisch funeral home Monday and Tuesday evenings.

172 Miles New Concrete In County

The state highway commission gave tentative go ahead 1744 miles of cement concrete on highway 29 from Sioux to north, with completion set for 1958. The action was taken on Tuesday as part of eight projects planned for 1957 and 1958 in the region.

Born September 29 1879 in Lyons Iowa she entered Mount St. Francis Dubuque in 1897 and spent her life teaching in the order. Funeral services will be held at Mount St. Francis Dubuque.

Den Mothers Needed Again For This Year

There will be a meeting of last years den mothers on Tuesday September 10 at the E U B church at 7 30 p m. Anyone wishing to be a den mother is asked to attend.
