Afternoon Guests Dine as Community Groups Meet in Hawarden and Merrill
Families from Hawarden Merrill and Seney Iowa gathered for a six thirty dinner and social events. The Wesleyan Service Guild held a Prayer Week service at the Methodist church with Verna Gearke as program leader and topics on the needs of India discussed by several community members. Local clubs met for cards and bridge while others visited relatives including Amy Walcott from Balboa Island visiting in the Bowers home. A birthday dinner at Louis Hauser’s honored his 75th birthday as the Buzzin Dozen played pinochle followed by lunch. The Past Matrony club of Eastern Star met in Bruns kall’s home for a business meeting then bridge.
