Twelve Extension Councils Held Elections Last Week
Plymouth County voters saw twelve Extension Council elections conducted. Mrs. Bart Schoenrock released the 1958 roster naming chairmen and township representatives across Le Mars and surrounding towns, including Norris Hawkins Kingsley Elgin Wesley Lancaster and other township leaders. The list shows chairs and routes from Le Mars to Akron and Remsen with multiple townships like Liberty, Lincoln, Marion, Meadow, Plymouth, Portland, Preston, Remsen, Sioux, Stanton, Union, Washington, and Westfield represented.

Obituary: Ralph Achterhof of Sioux Center dies at 66
Ralph Achterhof 66 retired implement dealer of Sioux Center Iowa died Monday after a long illness. Born November 25 1890 near Orange City he lived most of his life in the area. Survived by wife Maggie three sons Lawrence Floyd Eugene a brother Louis two sisters and nine grandchildren. Funeral services set for Friday at the Little Chapel and First Reformed church with Rev Harry Brower officiating burial in Sons Center cemetery.

Bertha E. Steele 83 of 2001 Rebecca street wife of Rev. Joseph Steele Jr pastor emeritus of Mayflower Congregational church died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Born November 7, 1872 near Altoona Iowa she taught kindergarten in Carroll and lived in Berwick Ankeny Kingsley Le Mars before moving to Sioux City in 1988. Survivors include two daughters four sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services 2 pm today at Heaton-Westcott funeral home with burial in Logan Park cemetery.

Trinity Lutheran Benefit Sale At Kasch Farm Near Hinton
A benefit sale to reduce debt will be held December 10 at the Clarence Kasch farm two miles east and one mile north and 3/4 mile east of Hinton. Corn livestock and poultry donated by church members will be auctioned to the high bidder for the Trinity Lutheran Church debt reduction. The church sits in Lincoln township east of Hinton.

Conservation Plans To Be Discussed By Floyd Valley Group
Ray Anderson announces a planning meeting of the Floyd Valley Watershed Association directors on Tuesday December 17 1957 at 8 pm at the Le Mars Vocational Agricultural Building five blocks east of Central Le Mars. Icy Streets Trigger Two Minor Crashes in Le Mars
Two minor accidents were reported to the Mayor's office in Le Mars after a blizzard. Sylvester Dreckman in a 1936 Chevrolet damaged the car at 1st Ave and 1st St, while Mercy Vail in a 1949 Ford caused damage on Central Ave after losing control and striking a 1950 Oldsmobile.
