Free Holiday Movie Tickets At Local Stores

Free tickets will be available at most stores on the first two Saturdays of December in Le Mars for children to attend the cinema while parents shop. Tickets may be obtained on request for shows December 4 and 11 at no charge, with multiple cartoons and comedies planned.

Remsen Woman Mrs E Schmelzer Dies After Long Illness

Mrs E Schmelzer a time resident of Remsen died today after a four year sickness at Sacred Heart hospital. Born in Luxembourg April 1865 Lizabeth Noth came to the area as a child and married Matthew Wiebersch in 1882 at Le Mars. Surviving are her husband three sons and sixteen daughters with dozens of grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services set for Thursday at 9 00 am at St Marys Church Remsen with burial in the church cemetery. Funeral home to handle arrangements. Wake held Tuesday and Wednesday night. Survivors include three sons Frank Wiebersch John P Wiebersch Theodore Wiebersch and many daughters and in laws. sisters and a brother listed. She was preceded in death by her first husband two daughters and one son.

Dedication of Cassir Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars

The Cassir Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars planned dedication events on November 16 and 16 with sermons by Rev. Otto De Groot and Rev. John Halst. Music by Theo de Vene and Western Chrauin Bagh Hull Iown accompanied greetings from local officials as the church marks its historic organization as a Congregation on March 3, 1994. The long lineage from an 1892 Alovian church to the current Christian Reformed congregation is noted, with early pastors and initial consistory members listed.

Killed Hunting Near Sheldon

Floyd C. Anderson a 23 year old Sioux City salesman was killed Saturday while hunting with Amos Anderson of Dunlap and Eugene Sweum of Sioux City about seven miles southeast of Sheldon. The coroner ruled the shooting accidental after Sweum stumbled and a 12 gauge discharged striking Anderson in the back of the head. Anderson worked for Gooch Milling Co Lincoln Neb. He leaves a wife and three children.

Remsen announces the engagement of Mars Lucile Sudteigte to Dasa J Mew. Miss Sudteigte, a College of St Catherine nursing graduate, works at Sheldon Community Hospital. Mr Mew, a Texas A&M graduate, serves in the Army at Fort Bliss. The wedding is planned for December 4.

Clara Belle Penne sues for divorce from Ronald Francs Penne alleging they married December 6 1949 in Le Mars and have two children Glenda Ras and Dasal Keith born to them. Chrysler Cars To Show Wednesday

The 1955 line of Chrysler Corporation cars will be on display Wednesday, November 17. The new Chrysler will be shown at Belanner Motors in Remsen, the 1955 De Soto at McKie Motor Co in Mary and the all new Plymouths at Whelan Motors in Le Mars. Westmar Concert Choir to present home program

Westmar College Concert directed by Larry Davwall will perform Sunday evening November 7 at 3:00 in the Westmar College chapel. The program features choral works including The Note of Multitude, The Peaceable Kingdom, From Grief to Glory, Hallelujah Amen, and Lift Thine Eyes, with the Westmar Male Chorus and Women’s Chorus performing selections.
