Remsen Woman Mrs E Schmelzer Dies After Long Illness
Mrs E Schmelzer a time resident of Remsen died today after a four year sickness at Sacred Heart hospital. Born in Luxembourg April 1865 Lizabeth Noth came to the area as a child and married Matthew Wiebersch in 1882 at Le Mars. Surviving are her husband three sons and sixteen daughters with dozens of grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services set for Thursday at 9 00 am at St Marys Church Remsen with burial in the church cemetery. Funeral home to handle arrangements. Wake held Tuesday and Wednesday night. Survivors include three sons Frank Wiebersch John P Wiebersch Theodore Wiebersch and many daughters and in laws. sisters and a brother listed. She was preceded in death by her first husband two daughters and one son.

The Cassir Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars planned dedication events on November 16 and 16 with sermons by Rev. Otto De Groot and Rev. John Halst. Music by Theo de Vene and Western Chrauin Bagh Hull Iown accompanied greetings from local officials as the church marks its historic organization as a Congregation on March 3, 1994. The long lineage from an 1892 Alovian church to the current Christian Reformed congregation is noted, with early pastors and initial consistory members listed.

Floyd C. Anderson a 23 year old Sioux City salesman was killed Saturday while hunting with Amos Anderson of Dunlap and Eugene Sweum of Sioux City about seven miles southeast of Sheldon. The coroner ruled the shooting accidental after Sweum stumbled and a 12 gauge discharged striking Anderson in the back of the head. Anderson worked for Gooch Milling Co Lincoln Neb. He leaves a wife and three children.
