May 15 Senior Day in Le Mars announced

Jim Dunlap of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce announced a May 15 Senior Day in Le Mars after meetings with Gehlen and Central high school committees. Plans include electing a King and Queen, honorary officials, and six student council members. A "Bow for a Day" program invites non-elected seniors to learn about business from employers. A senior day dance will follow, with parents invited to the grand ball and King and Queen to be named at intermission.

Art Sewberts fled suit against Paul Branch alleging an oral contract in April 1954 to wash and repair rooms in a Le Mars building for 8000 dollars and a toilet room and two other rooms for 92 dollars total 8092 dollars. Crandall Funeral Held for Le Mars Resident 54

Military funeral services for Lester Crandall 54 were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Luken Funeral Home. He died Friday at the residence of Oscar Werdenfeller in Le Mars where he had lived the past 20 years. The American Legion conducted rites with Rev. Frank Patterson officiating and burial at Cas Cemetery. He was born September 27, 1899 in Rock Elm Wisconsin and served in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in World War I and in World War II.
