Post Office schedules replace train timetables for mail dispatch to Le Mars. Deposits must be made at least 30 minutes before listed departure times. Routes include Lions City Worthington to Worthington arriving Le Mars 5 30 AM and Sioux City to Le Mars via PLM, Cherokee to Le Mars, and other listed times.
As the drivers of the trucks on the above schedules become more familiar with the runs, it can be assumed that the possible arrival and departure time will become earlier. bP. CONWAY, Postmaster.
In Le Mars a city wide chemical treatment is planned to kill flies and mosquitoes. Officials warn pests are resilient and migrate from the country. State entomologist Harold Gunderson urges thorough sanitation and shop back areas to curb breeding and feeding, emphasizing shared town and country responsibility.
Advised sanitation for garbage in covered containers on high racks, daily removal, and use of insecticide sprays in cooler months. Recommends DDT or methonychlor for June to October and lindane in July and August with temperature considerations. Also suggests fogging and regular residual spraying to curb fly ingress. The Henry Ro Van de Berg of Stony Center report 575 of 700 chicks dying in a brooder, with only 125 surviving, unclear cause after deaths occurred over Wednesday night.

More typhoid shots than expected are being administered under the Plymouth County Medical Society and Public Health Department. Local nurses and officials, including Miss Alice Johnson and Miss Leone Johnson, coordinate inoculation clinics and report strong community participation.

Marcene Groepper daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Groepper Remsen discharged from St Vincent hospital Sioux City after lip injury and leg cam injury and remains bedridden but improving. Warren Nannings Elisar ven mother of Maryn Sunons submitted to emergency operation for ruptured appendix last Sunday night. Maryn wedding held Sunday night.
Jim Carey, pool manager, says the swimming pool and picnic areas will close until further notice due to flood risk and contamination concerns.
Missionary and teacher Miss Virginia Pickarts from United Brethren Evangelical church stayed a week with her uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Bert Knapp. She taught at Harford High School in Maymba Brush West Africa, the region’s only interior high school, and was the first from her church to teach there. She returns to Laurence Kansas for summer classes and plans to resume teaching in Africa in December.
