In the wake of a severe flood, Duke Huckle and others report hundreds of drowned cattle and sheep along the river. Guardsmen help recover carcasses while some stock drift miles downstream. Meanwhile stores lose supplies as floodwaters inundate warehouses and readers adapt to surging demand for the next edition.
Sheriff Frank Scholer and county authorities commend volunteers and police forces for evacuations along the river. Dominick car headed north on Highway 75 four miles north of the Viars collided with Don Nahelson’s westbound truck at a sign. Dominick escaped injury but was trapped. he crawled out, walked, and was taken to Sacred Heart hospital with two cracked ribs and possible internal injuries. The truck remained on the road. vehicle damage was extensive and the car was demolished. Sheriff Frank Scholer investigated.
Mr and Mrs Gilbert Raveling of Le Mars welcomed a baby boy born Saturday June 6 at Sacred Heart hospital. He weighs 7.94 percent on baby boy? The article lists siblings Linda and Clyde. Flag Day observance will feature NE OW Faderson former commander of the Stour City naval rescue unit as main speaker at the EM club rooms on Monday June 15 with a 7:00 dinner and an evening program. Co K of the Iowa National Guard will attend the Elks event. one film will be Red Bull Attacks about the 34th Infantry Division. Ron Carley Web DePree and Leo Flaherty lead the program. Flag Day is observed Sunday June 14.
