Tornado Roars Over Orange City Sighted Near Sioux Falls

A morning tornado reportedly touched down near Sioux Falls but caused little damage and was heard overhead over Orange City around 2:45 am. Sheriff Harry Dykstra confirmed he did not see the funnel but heard a "terrific soaring". The incident recalls two earlier Sioux County tornadoes that caused significant damage and were visible from Le Mars.

Swimming Lesson Schedule For Le Martians At New Deal Pool

Mrs. Joel Shepherd announced this week that most Le Martians will attend swimming lessons at the Municipal New Deal Swimming Pool on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays evenings. Details including names hours and instructors will be posted after Tuesday noon June 16 at the bath house and Shepherd Insurance Agency windows. Oyens Pease Own Rides Offer For Bookings In Town

Thirteen men of Oyens own two merry go rounds a ferris wheel and a kiddie car ride sold as Oyens Amusement Company rides. Fire damages a packing crate on 2nd Street scene

Firefighters were alerted Tuesday night around 8 30 to a large packing case used by newspaper carrier boys that caught fire on 2nd Street between Central and First Avenues. A possible discarded cigarette sparked the blaze, which caused minimal damage before being extinguished. Mrs. R D Sherman spent several days last week in Springfield South Dakota attending the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Lou Talsma.

Weather We Had in Ply mouth County Storm Rain and Hail

An early today electrical storm hit Ply mouth County bringing rain about 0.30 inches and wind. Water overwhelmed Le Mars streets with some hail noted but no local damage. Sioux County reports hail damage, but Sioux Center News checks found none. Temperatures ranged from 64 to 90 with a 67 low, and a few inches of rain recorded.
