The notice states 18 year olds slow to register Company K will depart for Camp Ripley on August 1 to fulfill service obligations. Registrants with no deferments remain liable to inform local boards until age 26, while those deferred must continue reporting until age 35.
DES MOINES Iowa July 23 Colonel Ro A Lancaster State Director outlined registration requirements under the Selective Service Act. Every male citizen and alien aged 18 to 26 must register with the local board with five day post 18th birthday window noted. The filing is a continuing obligation and failure risks fines up to 10000 dollars or five years imprisonment. If a registrant moves they must inform the local board. records are transferred to the jurisdiction of residence.

Miss Annette Dethmers of Hull dies at St Joseph Mercy hospital after a two-vehicle crash at Perkins Corner two miles west of Hull on Highway 75. Bernard Linguet of Albert Lea Minnesota, the truck driver, was unhurt. car driver died at Leona City Hospital. Dethmers had long served Hull Hospital as head nurse. Survived by daughter Mrs Carl Brerma, Sioux Center. son Rev Vernon Dethmers, Middle Bush, and sister Mrs John Van Werk, Hull.
Arnold J. Epling of Neptune has patented an arcate laminated arch for clear span buildings. The peaked top design eliminates water and snow shedding issues found in round roofs. The arched members, termed arcate, are joined in jigs, glued, bolted, and painted, with labor efficiency and strength gains highlighted for exhibition at the county fair.
Chief Kavita Fiedemaan Quo Wo Miller of Le Marslowe has been moved to the Naval Military Development Center for Operations duties at the Naval Air Station. A large contingent of Company KO U3ed Infantry departs for summer training at Camp Ripley Minnesota. Most travel by train with some by motor convoy. Notables include Capt Edmund Sullevan and Lt Cycil Hensal with a long list of sergeants and corporals. This marks the unit’s first encampment and its largest departure since World War II era mobilization.
