Hoeven Looks at Decline in Russia and US Policy
Congressman Charles Hoeven analyzes the Soviet purge and East European unrest, praising Eisenhower's humanitarian food aid to East Germany as a strategic move, and speculates the Kremlin’s position may signal broader collapse. He cites US government investments in defense and industry, urging removal of government from business to cut waste and debt. He recalls Nixon and Speaker Martin hosting Eisenhower’s anniversary luncheon, highlighting his push for executive-legislative cooperation and a measured presidency.
