Voters Accept New Community School for Hinton
Plymouth County Board of Education met to canvass votes on the Hinton Community School election held July 34. Fred LaBahn 69, long resident of Staunton township and Johnson and Liberty townships, died July 19, 1954. He married Josephine Poradek in 1913. they farmed in Plymouth County and retired to a farm in 1945. Funeral services are pending at Mauer Funeral Home with burial at Floyd Park cemetery. Accidents reported on Thursday July 15 around 4:30 pm. Wanda Glenn driving a 1920 Ford struck a parked car owned by Ray Jones causing about 40 dollars damage to both vehicles. Vernon Grase sustained an arm injury in a Sunday collision at Lomile east and Craze. Grase driving a TE Ford hit John Dirks driving a 1950 Dodge pickup. resulting crash led to vehicle damage and injuries. Passengers included Mors Dirks and Gary Vernon. Both injured were taken to Sacred Heart hospital for treatment.

Mrs Anni Nilles Rites Given In Remsen
Funeral services for Mrs Anni Nilles of Del Rapids formerly of Remsen will be at 9 am Wednesday July 21 at St Marys Catholic Church in Remsen. Rev George Ehurb officiating Burial will be at Remsen with Fach funeral home in charge of arrangements. A wake will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs Nilles was born March 1, 1886 at Remsen. She married Nick Nilles January 23 1912 at Remsen. The couple lived in Remsen until moving to Det Bapub after which they moved to Remsen. Mr Nilles died May 16 1927. Mrs Nilles moved back to Remsen. She died there eight years before returning to Del Rapids. She passed away at Stony Falls on July 1 after an illness of over a year. Survivers include two children Mrs John Grage of Wilton Junction IA and Ray Niles of New Orleans Louisiana, five grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers. Deceased was preceded in death by her husband Nick, her parents Mr and Mrs Dominic Weiler, and two sisters Mrs John Miller of Salem SD and Mrs Peter Thil of Remsen. Hope To Start Build ing In About A Week
Charles E Luving and Bob McKune of Nevada Missouri plan a 35 by 40 ranch style building on a 4 acre tract on Highway 33 north of Le Mars for a 1000 watt radio station. They aim to be operational by September with a large coverage area spanning northwest Iowa and parts of South Dakota. The project includes a transmitter room, offices, show rooms, a type room, storage, fully air conditioned studios for live and recorded programs, several broadcast offices in northwest towns, and long distance links to Le Mars. The station will offer free public service time to schools, civic groups, 4-H, and nonprofit organizations. Local broadcasts will originate from a number of towns and be broadcast to Le Mars via long distance lines.
