Mins Mfary Beth Mauer wed John E. Dana at Mauer Dana St Wenceslaus Church Iowa City in a 9 oclock Saturday ceremony. Rev Neuzil officiated with Jeannie O Brien soprano and Sheila Cunningham organ music. Attendants wore champagne nile green canary yellow gowns. The couple, guests 175, reside in Denver after a two week trip. Dana a Mayer personnel manager. Mauer educated at Le Mars Clarke and UI.
A June wedding occurred at St Marys Catholic church on June 26 at 10 o'clock. Miss Shirley Anne Frericks and Nicholas Richard Scholer, both of Remson, were married in a double ring ceremony conducted by Rev. Father George Theobald. Matron of honor was Mrs Duwayne Meneely and best man Ed Gunuren. bridesmaids were Mrs Ruth Lunquist and Misses Dorothy and Patricia Frericks. Altar roses and orange blossoms framed the setting as St Marys senior choir sang the nuptial mass with organist Mrs S M Fideler. Soloist Jean Stevenson performed Ave Maria and On This Day. Ushers were Richard Mortiz Jack Berendes and Bob Meneely.
The bride wore Swiss embroidered organdy in white over blue taffeta with a fitted bodice and full skirt in three flounces. Her veil featured a crown of lilies of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of salley and white roses. The groom gave a pearl strand. A large Aero Club Flamingo room reception followed for 135 guests with blue and white décor and a central rose arrangement. The couple, both St Marys and Westmar graduates with a Remsen-Merrill background, plan to reside in Remsen after a short wedding trip.
Emma Hendricks a well known former Remsen resident died Saturday June 26 at Sioux Valley hospital Cherokee aged 62. Funeral held Monday at Christ Lutheran church conducted by Rev Alfred Christiansen. She lived with daughter Mrs Clarence Rasmus in Cherokee since March 31 after six years of ill health and earlier ran a cafe in Le Mars. Survived by three daughters Mrs Faye Rasmus Cherokee Mrs Frank Dorothy Rodesch Los Angeles and Mrs Frank Theresa Mazur Inglewood California. sister Mrs Olinda Shields Remsen brother Frank Nissen Niles California and aunt Mrs Mary Scherner Remsen. Interment in Remsen community cemetery.
The residence of Meric. Myers in Deloit Iowa hosted a home wedding on Thursday July 1 as Margaret Kenyon wed Warren Bock. Elder M Myers officiated the double ring ceremony with Mrs Darwin Case singing I Love You Truly accompanied by Mrs Louis Wincy.

The bride wore a blue nylon dress with white accessories and a blue rhiggstone neck lace. She carried a white carnation bouquet. her attendant was Gladys Beck, sister of the bridegroom. After a gray suit boutonniere, the couple honeymooned at the Black Hills and Yellowstone and will live in Le Mars.
In Le Mars this summer new sidewalks appear in the central business district near the Darrel Gralapp and Bob Smith buildings with Iowa Public Service Co adding a walk north of the new office. Future walks are planned in front of J C Penney and Tots and Teens. Nearby, Mr and Mrs James Baldridge, Mr and Mrs Gordon L Mennen, and Mr and Mrs Morse Hoomeman spent a week at Vacation Village on West Qho boji Lake.

Richard Otter died in a Sioux Falls hospital on Friday July 9 after a two week illness following a stroke. Funeral services were held in Sioux Falls on Monday. He previously lived in Merrill before moving to Sioux Falls. his wife Mrs Otter had died about a year earlier.
