House Recording Studio Lets Congress Make TV Radio
House and Senate recording facilities on Capitol Hill enable lawmakers to produce TV and radio programs for local stations at low cost. The House studio operates three radio studios and a TV film studio in the Old House Office Building, with about 200 lawmakers using the service this session. Production costs run much lower than private studios, and programs are often funded by the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee or by the members themselves, while the Senate remains more secretive about operations and pricing.
