The Le Mars Junior Chamber of Commerce names Harold Albert as Plymouth County Outstanding Young Farmer for 1958. At 29, he farms 240 acres in Elgin township, north of Le Mars, with hogs as a primary enterprise. He is married with two children and has rented 160 more acres to aid his younger brother who just returned from service. Albert participates in the Farmers Training Program and is now eligible for state honors.

Mobil Oil Station Plans Revealed For Highway 75 Site
An architect’s drawing shows a Mobil Oil Company station across from Le Mars Fruit & Grocery on highway 75. Steve Cain says work will start once weather permits and the design features drive-on lift, Kontact Lift, overhead lubrication, modern service bays, concrete drive, and asphalt parking. The building size is 30 by 50 feet with up to nine pumps, initially fewer. Lot transfers and house moves accompany the project as the area is rezoned for commercial use.
