Farewell Party For Servicemen

A family farewell gathering at the Frank Fiedler home in Ovens marked the departure of Wayne Fiedler, son of Mr and Mrs Ray Fiedler, who enlisted in the air corps and left for a California camp to pursue radar and radio training. Dale Bunkers and Marvin Gengier, also enlisted, accompanied him. Wendell Gengler of Milwaukee attended as a guest. The group enjoyed a hearty dinner, and Wayne and Marvin stayed for the evening. Lieut and Mrs Robert Atwood, recently married, will depart for Sewart Air Base Tennessee this weekend. Mr and Mrs Alvin Joslin and daughter Nancy Lou of Indianapolis, visited and returned home after seeing Mrs Joslin’s mother, Mrs Hoyt, a Sacred Heart hospital patient. Dr and Mrs J Johnson spent Sunday in Spencer in the home of Dr and Mr C P Johnson.
