Homemakers School plans target Westfield Remsen and Kingsley

Eva L. Lund invites Plymouth County homemakers to join a three to five lesson series on home economics topics including buying, furnishing, clothing, nutrition, and housekeeping. The program begins in April with evening classes possible. Open to adults with no cost beyond interest. Thirty ministers and wives gathered at St. John's United Church of Christ for morning devotions led by Rev. ML Straube.

Loveless to Speak on Soil Conservation District Program

Governor Loveless will address the Tuesday evening gathering and report on his European Countries visit. Perky Pixies Meet at Lubben Home For Art Club

Youth Fellowship Event at St John’s United Church

The Youth Fellowship of St. John’s United Church was entertained with a program featuring songs and readings. Organizers invited members of the congregation to attend and support the junior group activities.

Mrs. Pohlen Rites Held for 82 Year Old Resident

Funeral services for Mrs. William Pohlen, 82, of Hospers were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rt Rev Msgr George Theobald officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under Van der Ploeg Funeral Home. She died at Sacred Heart Hospital after three years of illness. Survivors include six sons, a daughter, twenty four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Police Court Fines Settled And Servings Reported

Donald Sheinfadt paid a 100 fine and costs for knocking down street signs and market signs with 25 suspended and 25 paid for shrub damage at the Federal Savings and Loan corner on Plymouth Street. Elmer Wilmes faced 100 fine with 50 suspended for traffic sign interference and 500 suspended for defacing property. Raymond Weise began a 52 day jail term for scene charges. Plus notes on Camp Ripley and Camp Guerney training and a Luncheon Club gathering hosted by Ron Carley with a one o’clock luncheon and contract session.
