Ted Vosburg a Pawllina high school senior and all conference football guard died shortly after noon Saturday at Orange City hospital. The Granville area farmer’s son suffered a basal skull fracture and lacerations when the car he was driving rolled off Highway 10 near Granville. He was returning from play practice at Paullina when the crash occurred. Vosburg was active in FFA and survived by his parents and three sisters. Funeral planned Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville with burial by Fisch Funeral Home Remsen. Paullina schools to close Tuesday morning in his memory.

Sheriff Frank Scholer investigated a one car accident at Branch corner on highway 5 past Le Mars at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Ronald Dean Schmitz of 800 Weat Maple St. Cherokee drove a 1944 Ford westbound when it struck the shoulder and rolled over, causing extensive damage. The driver was unhurt. a passenger from Cherokee was not injured. Both were taken to Sacred Heart hospital for examination.

Frederic Moore of Sioux City filed a $200,000 damage suit Friday in district court, naming Union Freightways Inc, Union Transfer Co, and driver Charles E. Dog shot near home reported in Friday incident
Bernard Mohan reported his dog was shot Friday morning near his upstairs apartment on Margo Street. The bullet passed through the dog from the upper left flank to the middle right flank. Patrolman Lyle Pell investigated an accident three miles east of Remsen on Highway 5 at 8 30 a m Friday. Ned Bauer of Des Moines, salesman for a hosiery firm, was eastbound in a 1955 Chevrolet when the car struck ice and slid across the road narrowly missing a westbound carload before crashing head on into a tree. The man was not hurt and $400 damage occurred to the vehicle later to Sloos brothers garage.

Walter Williams Mreton Specialt Waltyr Williams, 68, well known farmer and stockman seven miles northwest of Ireton, died at Hawarden hospital Tuesday after three weeks of illness. Born March 25, 1887, near Kant, he attended rural school in Fagle township and served in World War I. He lived in Montana briefly, then returned to the family farm. He never married and is survived by one sister and eight nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Hawarden mortuary. remains moved to Treton for burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rev. J. C.
