Wild car chase ends in crash and arrest in Le Mars
Frank Wilbur Winebrinner, 18, of Fonda Iowa, led police on a high speed chase through Le Mars after stealing a 1953 blue Buick from Branum Oil north of Merrill. The car crashed near 7th Street injuring nothing serious, then Winebrunner surrendered to officers. He admitted prior parole for motor vehicle larceny and, later handed to Sioux City detectives, pled guilty in Woodbury County and received a ten year sentence at Anamosa.

Surviving widow Velda includes daughter Haraldine Hilliker of Sioux City mother Mrs Hattie Peck of Hawarden a brother Laverne of Hawarden two sisters Mrs Stanley King of Merrillta and Mrs Lloyd Stinton of Akron and a granddaughter.
