Le Mars Man Hurt in Two-Car Collision Near Hinton
Three Sioux City teens and a LeMars man were slightly injured in a two-car crash about half a mile south of Hinton on highway 75. Injured were Leroy Blair Jr., James Pederson, Ed ward Leffler, and Dudley Kool. Blair Pederson and Leffler were taken to St Joseph Mercy hospital in stable condition. Kool was treated in LeMars for a leg injury.

Education Council approves by laws and meeting report
The Plymouth County Council and Education Association met at Hummers Restaurant on Feb 16 with about 40 attendees. After dinner they reconvened at LeMars High School for a program featuring Akron high school music and a report from Fred Suter on the Iowa State Education Association Assembly. The council approved proposed by laws to be voted on by county members before the March 14 meeting. Supt. O. L. Scranton presided as council president. Savings bonds sales in Town in January topped 22 million dollars, 13 percent of the state quota, above the national average.

Turner blamed the Republican Party for shunning him over the McNary Haugen bill and urged formation of township committees and officers. Sieb Siebens is NFO Plymouth County president. the group seeks favorable farm legislation and price supports. The union township meeting for officer elections is set for February 22 at Union School. Resolutions propose 100 percent farm product support, price floors for hogs and cattle, emergency credit, anti-monopoly actions, desert land reclamation curbs, wheat allotments by bushel, and nonpartisan cooperation with USDA.

Pauline Christina Schmid born February 20 1865 in Roseigheim Germany came to Plymouth County at age 20. She married Christian F Adler and had five children Samuel Lydia Ernest Sophie Louise. After her husband died in 1898 she moved to Le Mars. Survived by three children five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Sue and Get Rich Walter Warntjes of Rock Valley sues Dennis Niles and Elmer Grage in Sioux County district court seeking 57,000 in damages from an automobile-truck crash on February 17, 1954 on Highway 75. The petition alleges Niles, driving a Grage truck, turned left without signaling in Sioux Center, striking Warntjes and causing serious injuries. Damages sought include 1,700 for the car and 50,000 for injuries.
