A hidden group called the Kingsley Spooks plans their 57th annual Christmas Eve ride. Seven members, unknown to each other, give anonymously to families in need with gifts of clothing groceries and toys. Deliveries proceed quietly, leaving a basket and sleigh bell, then the Spooks vanish.

Carol Bainbridge and William Fulton united in marriage at 1 30 p m Saturday in the E U B Church Moville with Rev Forrest M Lay officiating. The service featured music by Dale Kuhns and Ronnie Schrunk with bridal party led by Jayce Anderson. The couple will reside in Sioux City where the bride will attend beauty school.

Mr and Mrs Aince Petersen announce the engagement of their daughter Donna Tee to Paul Dean Newendorp son of Mr and Mrs Nels Newendorp of Le Mars. An August wedding is planned.
Plymouth county treasurer Robert J. Kelly received an envelope mailed from Le Mars December 21 containing cash and a sheet with the words personal taxs. The sender did not specify whose taxes or year, or whether for delinquent taxes. Kelly seeks to identify the rightful credit recipient and asks the remitter to contact him via the treasurer's office.
Local items record several births in Hawarden area including a son to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crowley of Shennandoah and multiple infants born in Sioux City Le Mars Kingsley Hospers and Orange City. Also notes a heart attack for Lawrence Smith and injuries from a tractor power take off for Loren Warner. Continuous hospital updates and names of patients appear.
At about 1:10 am Saturday December 21 Long backing a 1957 Buick from the curb collided with a southbound 1959 Dodge driven by Josephine Klumper. Estimated damage 39 to Long car and 43 to Klumper car. Don Teazer of South Sioux City Nebraska, former Le Mars resident, visited Hans Miller.
Mrs Ray Edmonds of 815 Ist Ave S E sustained leg cuts and shock after being struck by a 1953 De Soto driven by Charles Tucker at 8th St and 1st Ave S E. She was taken to Sacred Heart hospital after 6 15 p m Thursday December 19. X rays to assess further injuries planned today, as she recovered from shock.
John Kounkel and his wife of Le Mars will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on January 1, 1958. An open house at Trinity Lutheran church hall from 2 to 5 p.m. that day invites friends and relatives. a dinner and reception for immediate relatives follows after 5 p.m. A full story and photo will appear in the next issue.

Five members of a LaPlante Nebraska family were injured in a car truck collision Saturday about six miles north of Le Mars on highway 33. Mr and Mrs Landron Roering and their three children were taken to Sacred Heart hospital. Mrs Roering and the children were treated and dismissed. Mr Roering remained hospitalized with a shoulder injury and was reported in good condition. Walter Dominick of Struble Iowa, the truck driver, was not injured.
Jamal Atallah sues Ray Heck and Charles Goulett in district court alleging they backed a Heck owned truck into his car on 2nd St in Sioux City on April 12 1957. He claims $41.77 for damages and $30 for three days loss of use plus costs and interest. Morse Hoormeman represents the plaintiff. Sam Chapman visiting Nebraska relatives during Christmas.
