Blauc Oil Co is named a direct Firestone distributor in a large two page Globe-Pont spread. The ad touts a one cent first tire with a recapable tire trade in. Buyers pay regular price plus one cent and federal excise tax. Sale runs 8 pm Friday August 28 to Labor Day September 7 or until stock runs out.
Local groups toured Le Mars businesses including The Globe-Post with a potential photo feature. Marie Tentinger’s Tots and Teens Shop unveiled a multicolored neon sign resembling building blocks. Willis Crow returns from Cedar Falls to take a teaching job in Inwood starting September 1. Don Montgomery, injured at Riverside path races, required eight stitches after an ion rod blow to the forehead but planned to compete again next Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Oscar Peter celebrated their silver wedding with open house on Sunday afternoon. About 10 guests attended. The couple, married Aug 21, held the celebration Aug 23. Daughters served, the cake cut by Mrs Robert Lancaster, with decorations in silver. Guests came from Ire ton Orange City Sioux City Akron Merrill Le Mars Peotone RI Sioux Falk SD. A 43-relatives picnic followed. Continuous entertainment featured an original song by Joyce and Don Lake and moving pictures by Don Lake.
The annual Rural Women's County Tea for Plymouth County groups was hosted by Mrs Floyd Blakely and featured practical tips on arranging garden flowers for conages and corsages made by attendees under expert guidance. Nearly forty ladies attended with township representatives and county committee members.
