About 238 youths from American Lutheran churches attended the West Central section Luther Leagues rally at Christ Lutheran Church Le Mars on April 26. Dr. Schmidt Wartburg College spoke on transforming power of God’s word and the church’s outreach. A teen panel discussed morals dating and popularity. Elections named Chim Hagen president and Dennis Borchers vice president. Supper followed by vesper by Cushing leaguers.

Margaret Bauer Rites Held for Danbury Native
Funeral services were held at St Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley for Margaret Bauer 64 of Kingsley who died Saturday at her brother John’s home. Burial followed at St Mary Cemetery Danbury under Dickison Funeral Home guidance. Born August 2, 1894 in Danbury, she was daughter of Matthias and Mrs Bauer and lived with her brother near Danbury until 1949.

Mrs. Anna Kruse age 80 of a farm near Le Mars died Friday at Sacred Heart hospital. Funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's American Lutheran, Preston township, with Rev. Henry Dirks. Burial in church cemetery under Mauer funeral home. Born February 2, 1879 in Germany, she came to Plymouth County at age 4. Married Harm H. Kruse February 23 1900. he died in 1951. Survived by six sons John Louis Herman William George Elmer all of Le Mars. two daughters Edna Schubbs of Peotone Illinois and Mildred Schulz of Le Mars. 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband in 1951, an infant son, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
