No Rain So Groetken Bros Get Ready To Irrigate Alfalfa

The Groetken Brothers farming north of Le Mars across from New Deal park plan to set up their irrigation system Tuesday. Aluminum pipes and turbine pumps with spray attachments were used last year during the dry spell and worked well. They will spray alfalfa fields and corn on the hill, hoping for rain as the season dries. R. L. Weidauer reports about half of the oats stand emerged poorly due to moisture shortage and about 50 percent of spring plowing is done.
